Fishing, Fishing and more Fishing!

Southeast Alaskan offers some of the greatest fishing in the world.

All 5 species of salmon exist in the Southeast Alaskan waters.  King Salmon, Alaska's official state fish, is the largest, frequently exceeding 50 pounds. Pacific Halibut are in the waters here and sport fish weighing hundreds of pounds are brought in every year! We have 2 kinds of trout: Cutthroat which can easily reach 7 pounds and Rainbow. Rainbow, some of which are seagoing in which case they are known as Steelhead, can reach 20 pounds. Don't forget the Dolly Varden, Pacific Herring, and 3 varieties of Crab (King, Dungeness and Tanner). We have abalone and octopus. Rounding out the mix are the abalone, octopus, prawns, cockles, scallops, sea cucumbers, and mussels.
